SITES

  • Eiffel Tower
  • Louvre Museum
  • Musee D'Orsay
  • Versailles(just outside of Paris)

TRANSPORTATION

“Walking or the Metro(subway)-if you will be taking it everyday, you might want to buy a Navigo (monthly pass) but you can also just buy a "carnet" which is a ten-pack of tickets, for around 11 euros.”

JARGON

Merci- thank you
S'il vous plait- please

ATTIRE

“Flip-flops are rare, and do not wear sweat pants and t-shirts to class. Longchamps "shopping" bags are huge.”

DINING

“Most restaurants are French, but there are also lots of Asian places. Crepe stands are like the hot dog stands of the U.S.”

CULTURAL DIFFERENCES

“I really didn't have a culture shock. I was so happy to see the culture and experience everything that the differences didn't bother me.”

NIGHTLIFE

“There is soooo much to do in Paris! Operas, movies, concerts. There are thousands of bars and clubs.”

HOUSING

“I lived with a French family that I found on the school's website. It was only 400 euros a month which is the cheapest I ever found. I would have loved to stayed in an apartment with a friend, but apartments are expensive and you have to find it online or something before you leave.”

BUDGET

“I didn't set a budget and I spent several thousands. It's all in traveling, though. Although weekend traveling is cheap in Europe, it adds up. It's so worth it though, I wouldn't change a thing.”

CLASSES

  • Brand Management (good)
  • Postional Bargaining (so easy and good)
  • Financial Analysis(don't take it)
  • International Finance(don't take it)

“There wasn't really any homework or books, except for a couple of group projects.”

 PREPARATION BEFORE STUDYING ABROAD

“Don't study abroad your second semester senior year.”

Cheapest place to travel to:
“Everything is easy, and equally cheap.”

Airlines:
“I got a eurorail pass for 5 days I think and used it a lot traveling in France and other countries. Easyjet and RyanAir are cheap, but don't take RyanAir. Bravofly.com”

Hostels:
.Check out hostelworld.com

FAVORITE MEMORY

“Italy was my favorite country (go to Cinque Terre), Paris was my favorite city, followed by London.”

ADVICE

"Don't pack too much, you'll buy lots of stuff in Europe. Also check the weight restrictions for your airline."

***While in Paris, you definitely need to eat lots of authentic French food!
